A 6-week course for students ready to take their wheel practice further.

This intermediate course is designed for students who have completed at least 5 beginner or extension-level classes, or have done around 25 classes of wheelthrowing and are confident in throwing up to 1kg of clay on the wheel.

Over 6 weeks, you’ll learn the techniques behind making plates & flatwares of various sizes on the wheel. You’ll focus on throwing wider, flatter forms, trimming clean bases, and understanding how to control drying and warping through each stage. Along the way, you’ll explore surface decoration methods such as slip design and carving. The final session will cover glazing and finishing using Studio Tomo’s in-house glazes.

This course is ideal for potters who want to refine control, precision, and finishing skills through plate-making. Class size is capped at 7 pax for close individual guidance.
