What course should I take if I am a complete beginner?
What course should I take if I am a complete beginner?
Pottery usually begins with hand-building, so for absolute beginners we recommend starting with hand-building before moving on to wheel-throwing.
Hand-building helps you get acquainted with clay and its properties, it builds a strong foundation to complement your wheel work later on.
That said, you’re welcome to jump straight into wheel-throwing if you prefer!
What should I know before signing up?
What should I know before signing up?
- Spots are first-come, first-served. We don’t hold slots or run waitlists.
- All bookings are final — no refunds, swaps, or cancellations.
- Each course needs at least 4 people to run. If it doesn’t, we’ll refund you in full.
- Fired pieces must be collected within 2 months of your final class. We don’t send reminders. Uncollected pieces may be recycled or cleared.
What should I bring to class?
What should I bring to class?
Short nails, comfy clothes, and good vibes. Clay gets messy (but washes off easily). Bring your own apron if you’ve got one!
If it’s your first time, you’ll need to grab a basic tool kit from us—it’s required for class.
What if I miss a class?
What if I miss a class?
For multi-week courses:
You’re allowed one make-up session if you miss a regular class and one separate glazing make-up (Week 6, if applicable).
Make-ups depend on our schedule and instructor availability — email us early if you need to miss a session. No-shows without notice are trickier to slot in.
For one-day workshops:
We aren’t able to offer make-up sessions. But you’re welcome to transfer your spot to a friend or family member — just email us their name before the session starts.
Can I pass my slot to a friend if I can’t make it?
Can I pass my slot to a friend if I can’t make it?
Yep! You can transfer your full booking to someone else—as long as they’re taking over all 6 sessions. Just email us with their name before the course starts.
When will I get my finished pieces?
When will I get my finished pieces?
We’ll fire your work after class ends—it usually takes 3–4 weeks. You’ll have 2 months to collect your pieces. We don’t send reminder emails, so pop it in your calendar! Unclaimed pieces might get cleared to make space.
